Greetings from LifeSteps...

A group of LifeSteps staff members and volunteers have come together
to plan an event this early summer to raise community awareness,
and hopefully some much needed financial resources as well. We call it...

"A Day in the Park with LifeSteps"

LifeSteps is proud to announce...

"The River" FM 102.3 radio station
as an on-site sponsor the day of the event!!!

They have committed to 2 weeks of radio promotion prior to the event.

What is "A Day in the Park" with LifeSteps?

It will be a huge Williamson County fun-filled, fundraising event.
It will be focused around Health, Fitness, and Safety.

A fun day for the entire family...even pets.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter has agreed too bring dogs for Adoption
and will do micro chipping for $10 a dog. We are working to get a vet to do vaccinations.
Remember all dogs coming the event need to be on leash.

We have planned many activities and contests.
The dog pictured above will even be part of a "prizes awarded" coloring contest for kids.
Click here to view, download, or print the official coloring page.
Go to our home page to view contest details and rules.

There will also be both commercial and non-profit booths setup at the event.
Download our vendor application in Acrobat.pdf or Word.doc format.

A new business to Georgetown has joined with us for promotion.
Wouldn't you like your company to be represented like this one?

The idea is to have an event to raise community health and safety awareness.
We plan to have blood donations, health screenings (diabetes and asthma tests),
safety checks, crime prevention, and any educational efforts involved in
family and individual "well-being".

There will be dozens of booths, displays, games, contests, and activities for all age ranges.
One of the really fun and educational programs is the Life Skills Puppet shows (sesame street style).

The city of Georgetown Police and Fire Departments will be there with friends of the community,
entertaining and educating young and old alike
. Kids love fire trucks.

We are looking to get cornerstone commitments
to help make this event a HUGE success.

We need several different types of commitment from the community....

First would be an "official sponsors", or "anchor" supporter(s).
These will be businesses subsidizing or donating money, prizes,
services, or volunteer time to this cause.

One of the fundraising methods will be to raffle things of value at the event.
These will need to be donated by local businesses. Can you help?
How about donating services from your company to ensure a successful event?

Do you have interest in helping in this way?

Leading up to and during the event, we will be selling
raffle tickets promoting our sponsors and supporters.

There would also be hourly prize drawings throughout the day.
Will you donate an hourly prize ($50 - $100 value) to be given away?

We plan to create an annual Georgetown / Williamson County happening
that will be recognized by name as a popular community affair.

Never heard of LifeSteps?

It would not be that surprising to us if you have never heard of our organization,
and that is exactly what motivates this introduction.
LifeSteps of Williamson County is campaigning for public awareness in this community.
We believe you and your company may be a big help in this effort.
Let me expain something about the history and background of this
community-impacting non-profit organization.

Now for a little history:

The Williamson Council on Alcohol and Drugs was organized in 1978.
Several concerned Williamson County residents saw the need
to assist fellow citizens of the county with problems
related to the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Services included education, substance abuse assessments and counseling.
As the needs of clients changed, services were expanded.
The agency took the name LifeSteps in 2001.

We would love to discuss this possibile partnership more in detail at your convenience.
Of course the sooner we can establish our "anchor supporters",
the sooner we can begin to promote your business as part of the event on May 16th.

Be assured all advertising for the event will include advertising for our key sponsors.
I think you can see how this really could be a good partnership for both LifeSteps and your company.

We look forward to hearing back about any support you may have toward fulfilling this dream...

Thank You
