STRENGTHENING FAMILIES
This is a six-session program designed for families with pre-teens and young adolescents. Parents and youth are involved in educational sessions with their peers, covering subjects such as: dealing with stress, family values and resistance skills. The curriculum focuses on reducing family-related risk factors and building protective factors.TRANSPARENTING
Divorce is recognized as a very stressful experience. This 4-hour research-based curriculum focuses on the needs of children and how adults can help them cope. Counselors discuss different stages children go through as a result of divorce. Parents, concerned caregivers and grandparents are welcome to attend. Seminars are conducted by two licensed counselors from LifeSteps. After attending, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Topics include: establishing a co-parenting relationship, emotional reactions, guidelines for helping children adjust, new family structures and developmental stages.Classes are held on the 1st Saturday of each month in the Round Rock office from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Please pre-register for the seminar by coming in or mailing the completed form with a payment of $40.00 (money order only).
Some points to remember are: No childcare provided. All sessions begin on time and credit will not be given for late arrivals. NO REFUNDS will be given and schedules may change due to holidays.
